GENERAL SANOTS CITY, May 22 (PNA) -- Swine raisers from all
over the country gather here today for a three-day national
convention that will tackle problems confronting the livestock
industry and the effects of globalization.
Many local hog raisers have raised apprehensions that the local
industry may not fare well in the global competition as it still
needs to improve on many aspects.
The SOCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani,
General Santos) area, which is playing host to this year's confab,
provides close to 80 percent of the country's annual total
