Hi Francisco, If you are using Java-in-the-Script node, you can open Sockets like any other Java application. The problem occurs when you face security restrictions -- generally, for an on-the-fly demo, you can only open sockets back to the server from where you got the VRML file, just like normal Java. One good source to look into is "Java for 3D and VRML Worlds" by Lea, Matsuda and Miyashita. Another good source is "Late Night VRML 2.0 with Java" by Roehl, Couch, et al.
