 All very interesting but according to Lewisohn the final verse was 
 made up in the studio with everyone chipping in. I suspect that as 
 with a lot of Paul's songs, the sound of the words were of more 
 importance than their meaning. Often (eg Jet, Band on The Run, 
 Bathroom window)the way his lyrics scan is wonderful but they 
 don't really say anything special.
 Sorry to be a sceptic. I still love the song.
