 I have also done this, but save this trick for the winter!  I found the heat 
 from the lamp overwhelming, and we certainly don't need our sweaty mitts all 
 over our precious needlework ;-).  Needless to say, this project of mine on 
 18ct black aida is still sitting in the infamous UFO pile!  Maybe this 
 winter......
